Based in Seattle, my career has both empowered and challenged me to build on blank slates. From founding a non-profit in college to my current role as head of the operations department for Barnum West, I specialize in guiding teams from ideas to results. There is strength in structure, but the processes we use to run business shouldn’t slow us down. My expertise bridges the gap between owners, stakeholders, and operators to deliver a system where everyone wins. The pillars of my approach are:1) Research—With data driven strategies to identify pain points, I root out snags and bottlenecks. I am committed to an intimate understanding of the systems at play. Knowledge is power.2) Creativity—The ideal fix is not always feasible, but the creative fix is how we maximize impact. Creativity is discernment, knowing whether to build upon the base or start from scratch. Whether the system needs a tweak or an overhaul, I can find when and how.3) Detail—A successful operations team doesn’t let anything fall through the cracks. It takes intentionality and precision to map a new idea and standardize the system. In my practice, I avoid unexpected outcomes by paying meticulous attention ahead of time.4) Communication—The ability to articulate exactly what I mean has allowed me to thrive in fast environments. Eliminating ambiguity reduces room for error and allows my team to execute objectives correctly the first time around. 5) Roadmap—To drive the narrative forward, leaders in operations need to implement effectively. I show my team how to zoom out and see the big picture. To get from here to the finish line takes a clearly defined set of actionable steps and measurable goalposts.6) Character—At the heart of every story are human beings. The force behind business success is an empathetic approach to the people who make mountains move. My responsibility is not only to have vision, but to provide access for my team to invest in that vision alongside me.
