Over the last three summers, I interned at Stansberry Research working on a niche team with a core goal to bring "Bloomberg Terminal Lite" to individual investors. One of the first major projects I owned was the creation of an interactive world map to display different economic indicators by country. I managed this project from initial pitch to integration into the terminal. The project was a great learning experience, from picking a data vendor, to the backend data ingestion and processing, to the front-end UI code. My coworkers and contractors in India taught me how to bring the project to a high standard for release.Most recently at Stanberry Research, I created formulas that indicated the overall health of the stock price, trailing stop losses, and strategies that combined recent volatility trends with price movements to indicate a potential buying opportunity. Using these formulas along with momentum formulas, I also developed an equities trading strategy. I then used a combination of the data points to feed a hierarchical clustering algorithm to yield a second trading strategy. Both strategies will be included in the next release of the terminal.

I have gained an immense amount of knowledge and leadership experience as the Performance Portfolio Manager (PPM) at my school’s Student Managed Investment Fund. We are a student run fund, managing over $450,000 of the school’s endowment. As the PPM I am responsible for tracking the funds’ performance and stop loss levels on our positions, sending weekly and monthly performance reports to the fund and our faculty advisors, as well as being one of three to vote on whether to invest in a pitched stock.

During my time at Pinnacle, I worked extensively with a professional Quantitative analyst writing programs to automate data retrieval for many projects using the Bloomberg API for Python. I modeled economic performance around the globe (PMI – Manufacturing and PMI – Services) using data captured from my automation programs. I also assisted in screening and analyzing over 200 mutual funds and ETF’s prospectuses from Morningstar as part of a larger initiative by the Investment Team.
