I have been involved in the retirement plan industry for over 20 years. I currently provide customized solution-oriented consulting and plan administration services for qualified retirement plan sponsors of all types and sizes. My extensive experience includes advanced plan design, implementation and ongoing annual administration. In addition, I have consulted on complex plan mergers, spinoffs and plan terminations. My areas of specialty include plan compliance corrections including Voluntary Correction Program (VCP) filings with the IRS, solving complex plan design issues and assisting plan sponsors with streamlining their internal procedures to facilitate more efficient plan administration. I also have extensive experience with both ERISA and Non-ERISA tribal government 401(k) plans. I currently hold the Enrolled Retirement Plan Agent (ERPA), Qualified 401(k) Plan Administrator (QKA) and Qualified Pension Administrator (QPA) professional designations. Outside the office, my interests include paddle boarding, hiking in the mountains, domestic and international travel, photography, gardening and cooking. An ERPA is an individual who has been approved by the Internal Revenue Service (IRS) to practice before the IRS on certain retirement plan issues, including the ability to represent plan sponsors before the IRS on plan audits. An ERPA must have a working knowledge of plan document requirements, plan operation, compliance with the tax code, administration, filing requirements (Form 5500), and IRS programs (for example, the Determination Letter Program and the Employee Plans Compliance Resolution System (EPCRS)).The QKA credential is offered for retirement plan professionals who work primarily with 401(k) plans. They typically assist employers and consultants with the recordkeeping, non-discrimination testing and the administrative aspects of 401(k) and related defined contribution plans. The credential is provided by the American Society of Pension Professionals & Actuaries (ASPPA).The QPA credential recognizes expertise in advanced management functions for all types of pension plans, including technical administration, compliance, and reporting. The credential is provided by the American Society of Pension Professionals & Actuaries (ASPPA).
