As Executive Producer for ACS Productions at the American Chemical Society, Matthew leads a team using videos, audio podcasts, webinars, live virtual events, and social media to tell chemistry stories the educate and entertain. Prior to joining ACS Productions, Matt was a senior video producer at NASA’s Goddard Space Flight Center. There he produced videos, TV broadcasts, press briefings, live events, and interactive exhibits about NASA science and engineering. Most often, Matt worked on missions in the Earth Science Division; in particular, he created the visual communications for the Landsat program. During his time at NASA, he worked on multiple satellite launches; spent loads of time filming in clean rooms; joined field expeditions in deserts, tropics, and the Greenland Ice Sheet; and had many late nights editing footage.Other science communication work includes 3-D animations of organic synthesis, interactive tutorials for intro chem classes, and a documentary on water in the Great Lakes basin.Once upon a time, Matt was a research assistant in physical chemistry at Princeton University, using laser spectroscopy and molecular beams to investigate bonding in small clusters of atoms.
