I am a sustainability focused, licensed architect, managing several prototypical projects at Henson Architecture at the forefront of the race to decarbonize architecture within the next 10 years. These include Passive House projects, as well as innovative retrofits of existing and historic buildings. My educational background in Environmental Studies has driven me to find challenging ways to solve the current issues facing architecture and the built environment.In 2020 I curated one of the most intensive workshops thus far in carbon reduction for existing and historic buildings, at the Association for Preservation Technology's Annual Conference, as a core member of the Zero Net Carbon Collaboration. As a member of AIANY's Committee On The Environment as well as the Historic Building Committee, I created a bridge between the two in 2019, and have now curated two years straight of an annual panel discussion on the challenges of sustainably retrofitting historic buildings, and won an AIA award for the first year's event. My previous work experience includes multiple Passive House masonry retrofit townhouse renovations as well as single family homes, window replacement projects, and building envelope studies.
