Wizarding Weekend in Ithaca, NY is an organization that hosts an annual magical, family-friendly festival to raise funds for local nonprofit organizations and raises awareness of Ithaca's budding tourism industry. As a member of the social media research and strategy team, I was in charge of Public Relations and Media Relations for the Wizarding Weekend Festival 2017, with full autonomy on the organization's Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, and Snapchat accounts.For this event, my team and I were tasked with producing content for social media posts, data collection, live event coverage across social platforms, and analysis of social media engagement. After 3 months of management, social media following increased 13%, we achieved 7,632 Instagram impressions during our 3-day lead up campaign, and finished a great weekend with 18,000+ in festival attendance over 2.5 days.In addition to our efforts on social media, I produced and distributed media alerts to local, regional, and national print and web publications, being issued in 13 publications across the nation.
