Vice President
CurrentLeader of a small Defense Contractor that provides R&D, engineering, and manufacturing services to DoD and Government customers. We have products on every ship in the Navy, aboard the Ohio class, and flying in USAF aircraft. Since I started with TAF I have grown the company from less than $200,000 a year in revenue from a single customer to $4+ million per year and a diverse customer base. Under my leadership we’ve grown to 26 employees, created an R&D program, built out a manufacturing facility, and developed a sustainable business model. Completing my growth from engineering focus to executive leadership, I learned how to effectively manage long-term strategy and how to mentor people to find the areas in which they can excel. I lead all aspects of the business with 26 employees reporting to me in 5 teams. My teams include manufacturing, engineering, software development, administration, and business development functions. As I expanded the company I built out functional teams and developed or recruited leaders to build a chain of command and reporting structure. I created hiring processes to find talent, processes to develop and advance talent, and managed facility acquisition. Improved operational effectiveness by deploying company-wide project planning tools (Wrike), accounting processes (Xero, Tsheets, ApprovalMax), and a manufacturing execution system (PicoMES). Established business development processes to improve responsiveness to RFQs and increase growth.
