Responsible for operation and optimization activities for a water conditioning media production plant. Oversee design, troubleshooting and optimization of water conditioning and filtration systems including ion exchange media, absorption media, catalytic filtration media and reverse osmosis systems.

Manage design, build up, and operation of alternative fuels Research and Development (R&D) activities, including a midstream crude oil blending and Liquified Petroleum Gas (LPG) vapor suppression testing facility, hydrotreating units, continuous distillation units, and fluid catalytic cracking units. •Coordinate alternative fuels unit operations and identify opportunities for continual process condition optimization to improve efficiency and quality of products to meet specifications, modifying conditions based on analytical test results. •Provide instrumentation and equipment monitoring and troubleshooting. •Perform installations, upgrades, wiring, and programming for instrumentation and control systems. •Built unit and fully automating the control system for unmanned operations of a multi-reactor butane hydrocracking unit to produce ethylene.•Work on design and build up of a pilot plant for oxidative coupling of methane to ethylene.•Support operations to convert soybean oil to specification gasoline using a fluidized catalytic cracking unit followed by a continuous distillation.•Manage buildup and operation of new pilot units supporting the following: Isomerization and vacuum distillation of paraffinic wax to reduce the congealing point. Hydrodesulfurization of both slurry oil and light catalytic oil to produce diesel and gasoline.  Blending different crude oil streams to achieve target American Petroleum Institute (API) gravity to feed into a continuous distillation column to produce diesel to targeted specifications.  Hydrocracking and distillation of paraffinic wax to produce diesel and naphtha. •Prepare new business bids and proposals, including working with cross-functional teams to analyze requirements and prepare estimates. •Train operations teams, new employees, and interns on SOPs, protocols, and safety regulations.

As a contractor for Southwest Research Institutes alternative fuels R&D department, I have had the opportunity to be involved in the design, build up and operation phases of various processes. Some of the processes include a midstream crude oil blending and vapor suppression testing facility, hydrocracking units, hydrotreating units and continuous distillation units. During these processes, I have assisted with project schedules by monitoring the projects progress, coordinating activities and resolving problems. I have also helped set up the project budget and man hours as well as coordinated with vendors and outside contractors for additional manpower. During build up and planned maintenance, I have assisted with pipe fitting, wiring of control systems and setting up control systems. As a lead engineer during operations, I am tasked with operating the controls, optimizing the unit and troubleshooting any issues with the process that may arise. I collect, analyze and summarize analytical and process data to provide weekly project status reports for the clients.
