SSVF provides a continuum of specialized housing services, case management, linkage to Veteran and mainstream benefits, temporary financial assistance, and other supportive services in order to address housing stabilization for Veterans and their families who are homeless or at risk of becoming homeless. Responsible for the accountability and maintenance of over $40 million worth of property and equipment. Responsible for resourcing and training the most diverse company in the battalion, consisting of the battalion staff, CBRNE (chemical, biological, radiological, nuclear, explosives) reconnaissance platoon, military police platoon, and support platoon. Responsible for the battalion cooks and maintenance, medical, and POL (petroleum, oil, lubricants) sections. Responsible for all life, security, and mission support functions for the company.

Company Commander, A Company, 2nd Battalion, 87th Infantry, 3rd Brigade, 10th Mountain Division (Light). Commander of a 131 Soldier Light Infantry Company in the 10th Mountain Division (Light Infantry) of the U.S. Forces Command with the requirement to be ready to deploy and conduct combat operations anywhere in the world within 96 hours. Responsible for the training and tactical employment of the company in combat or operations other than war. Responsible for the readiness, welfare, discipline, morale and professional development of all Soldiers and their Families. Ensures proper maintenance and accountability of all unit equipment. Plans and conducts training to prepare for operations during peacetime and in combat. Responsible for the tactical employment of unit during combat operations. Responsible for establishing a command climate that fosters team building, open communications, integrity, and moral behavior.

Assisted in the development of full spectrum non-lethal operations as part of the Combined/Joint Task Force-76 (CJTF-76) Headquarters conducting combat operations in support of Operation Enduring Freedom VII in Afghanistan. Represented the Assistant Chief of Staff for Information Operations and provided both lethal and non-lethal planning recommendations based on enemy spheres of influence and enemy model analysis to disrupt or degrade enemy influence operations during shaping, decisive, and sustaining phases of operations.

Student, Maneuver Center of Excellence. The resident course is 22 weeks long and takes place in a small group setting. The POI is flexible and adapts to the needs of the Commander in the field. One such way we do that is by surveying current Battalion and Brigade Combat Team (BCT) Commanders. For example, it was identified, because of the current Army Force Generation Cycle, that training management was a shortfall in the Professional Military Education of captains coming to BCTs. As a result, a basis of understanding of training management is now taught in the course. The curricula forces on all types of operations that a company commander may be forced to operate in, from combined arms maneuver to wide area security missions.

1st Battalion, 36th Infantry Regiment | Friedberg, Germany | October 2003 – May 2005Senior Logistics Officer for a mechanized infantry battalion in United States Army Europe. Planned and resourced all classes of supply during training operations and Immediate Ready Force assumption. Responsible for coordinating logistics activities and executing logistic requirements for the battalion commander and the companies. Managed the command supply discipline program for the battalion. Responsible for managing the budget to include all resource management operations within the battalion. Appointed as the Government Travel Card coordinator and alternate billing official for the Government Purchase Card.

1st Battalion, 36th Infantry Regiment | Friedberg, Germany | October 2002 – October 2003Platoon leader/fleet manager for a 39 Soldier Bradley Mechanized Infantry Platoon forward deployed in United States Army Europe and Central Command, consisting of four Bradley Fighting Vehicles. Responsible for the maintenance and accountability of all equipment worth more than $5 million. Responsible for the health, welfare, morale, discipline, and training of 14 non-commissioned officers and 25 enlisted soldiers. Maintained an effective combat ready unit fully trained and prepared to deploy anywhere in the world, fight immediately upon arrival, and win. Planned and supervised all collective and critical tasks in support of the company mission essential task list. Responsible for the safety of all soldiers.
