This was a 7 week internship under the Future You Internship Scheme provided by NTU. My role was to research the impacts on climate change in relation to crime. I, along with another colleague, wrote up scope reviews and created a cross-impact analysis spreadsheet as to how we could gather these impacts. I am reporting to DCC Shaun West, who is the Detective Chief Constable of Gloucestershire Constabulary, to report my findings at the end of the internship.

I lived in university halls in my second year of studies with fellow Resident Assistants. My role was to assist first year students living in halls by providing them with support for whatever they may need. I mainly helped with those who were either stressed due to the pressures of university, homesick, depressed or felt anxious, and I was also first aid trained so that I would know what to do if a student needed any assistance medically. I was on duty as a Resident Assistant from 6pm in the evening until 8am the following morning once a week every week and one weekend every 4 weeks (we had a duty phone whilst we were on duty, so yes, I was able to go to bed!). I gained a lot of experience from this role; I learned how to care for others, especially when they were potentially very emotionally vulnerable, and I also tried to give the best advice possible by listening to what they had to say for whatever situation the student(s) may find themselves in.
