Presently the Vice President of Finance at Heritage Ministries, who has provided services within the community for over 130 years, since 1886. A non-profit organization, Heritage currently provides services across four states to our most vulnerable populations, including both children and seniors. Providing senior living, including independent, assisted living, skilled nursing, memory care and child care services, Heritage is a forward thinking organization working tirelessly to help shape and adapt to the ever changing environment of healthcare.As Vice President of Finance, my duties include, but are not limited to:- Assist with and direct financial strategy for Heritage, including strategic planning with a number of executives which comprise Heritage Ministries executive team.- Oversight of the annual budget process, including working with all executive team members to develop a budget for an organization with $90 million in annual revenues across 12 communities.- Developed and completed monthly financial reporting for all communities, including monitoring of key performance indicators such as days cash on hand, days revenue in accounts receivable, operating margins, and earnings before interest, depreciation and amortization.- Oversight of key reimbursement functions and reporting, including, but not limited to, Medicare and Medicaid cost reports, rate appeals, contract review, regulatory related audits and rate calculations. Due to the varied nature of operations, Medicaid cost reports covered four states and various regulatory agencies.- Oversight and completion of all annual tax filings, Form 990.- Oversight of the financial conversion of a legacy general ledger system to a new, fully integrated, enterprise resource planning system.- Oversight of key financial areas such as accounts receivable, accounts payable, accounting and financial reporting.- Orchestration and oversight of the annual audit process performed by an external audit firm.- Involvement as an integral member of a team navigating reporting and regulatory requirements related to HHS (CARES Act) and FEMA funding related to the COVID-19 pandemic.
