Founding/Lead Executive for NES, an independent loan servicing company, which included two affiliated finance companies (NEF and NEF II) and grew from a servicer of a $235M asset pool to a servicer/owner of a $1.4B asset pool.•Created NES with investors when Corus Bank exited the student loan business. NES was profitable each year of its existence.•Developed company from scratch: filed incorporation documents; managed transition of 40 employees and transfer of many contracts; negotiated the servicing and marketing contracts, the lease, health insurance, 401(k) plan and other benefits; and purchased assets.•Managed growth from $235M in assets to >$1.4B in assets. • Negotiated the purchase of a $1B portfolio in 2007. •Simultaneously negotiated the financing to purchase the portfolio, and created another company, National Ed Financing (NEF), to purchased the loan pool. •Managed the companies through the 2007/2008 financial crisis.•Created a second finance company, NEF II, to originate loans in a special program that provided liquidity in the student loan marketplace during the recession.
