• Created NES with investors when Corus Bank exited the student loan business. NES was profitable each year of its existence.
• Developed company from scratch: filed incorporation documents; managed transition of 40 employees and transfer of many contracts; negotiated the servicing and marketing contracts, the lease, health insurance, 401(k).
• Managed growth from $235M in assets to >$1.4B in assets.
• Negotiated the purchase of a $1B portfolio in 2007.
• Simultaneously negotiated the financing to purchase the portfolio, and created another company, National Ed Financing (NEF), to purchased the loan pool.

• Helped design a loan rehabilitation program that capitalized on obscure federal regulations long before the rest of the market.
• Hired and trained a team of 60 specialists in a period of four months to take advantage of this time-sensitive program, which ultimately earned the bank tens of millions of dollars in profit.
• Helped grow the traditional student lending division from a regional player to a national lender by hiring and supporting external sales team and managing the growth of the operations team to support the additional.
• Ultimately helped market and sell the asset pool when the bank decided to exit the student lending market in late 2000.
