Understand and manage the cell cost centre budget and work with the team to drive productivity and reduce consumable cost.• DELIVERY - Deliver our products and services to customer commitments on time. Plan using load and capacity tools and manage bottlenecks and constraints to achieve flow through the cell. Understand WIP and inventory levels and drive to meet business targets.• PEOPLE - Optimise the capability and capacity of the shift by developing a flexible team. Develop, coach, and motivate team members ensuring they are trained, capable and effective. Delegate and empower team members to act and make their own decisions.• LEAN - Ensure that all relevant Production System minimum standards are fully deployed and sustained within the business in support of performance objectives and coaching the team to fully participate in continuous improvement.• Six Sigma certification• Prior experience supervising or managing machine shop with CNC equipment or large complex assemblies.

Key Accountabilities: • Ensure the ERP system is maintained with robust & credible data that creates suitable supply elements that support the delivery of the customers demands/ requirements.• Have a working knowledge of the load and capacity factors that could potentially affect the supply chains ability to deliver the plan and offer mitigations to alleviate these.• Ensure awareness of inventory implications across the value stream resulting from ERP system planning parameters and settings and to optimise these where permitted, whilst minimising customer delivery risk. • To be actively engaged in the ERP compliance processes thereby ensuring robustness of plans by maintaining high integrity data.• Ensure the logistics methods for delivery and movement of parts to and within the company/customer are optimised in terms of cost, whilst ensuring that the required availability dates for any material is not compromised.• To carry out as required (periodically scheduled as agreed) the required business reviews and assessments in order to understand the capability to deliver to the company's demand requirements, with respect to constraints, capability, bottlenecks and Load/Capacity imbalance. • To operate to the relevant policies and procedures as defined within the corporate quality processes and the production system• Key Experiences and any Qualifications • Educated to degree level or relevant professional qualification (e.g.. APICS) or suitable equivalent based on proven experience• Understanding and experience of managing load / capacity is desirable • Demonstrated ability to manage deliveries and make balanced business decisions under challenging ambiguous circumstances.• Understanding of different roles / functions / processes (e.g. Manufacturing, Purchase, NPI, Quality etc.).• Able to take responsibility for their own development• Experience of production planning and associated control processes.

Asset management provides Defence businesses with significant opportunities to optimise lifecycle cost and system availability. Policies and processes associated with the Maintenance, Repair and Overhaul (MRO) of Engines and components are key to effective asset management.As an Engine MRO Engineer I defined, validated and supported the implementation of maintenance policies and procedures at Product level including; build and strip method and associated special to type tooling. This required working closely with other Engineering capabilities including Design, Materials- and Manufacturing- Engineering across a range of products.Engine MRO Engineers are deployed into Integrated Project Teams within the business.Key responsibilities:• Complete Support Analysis to develop maintenance and support concepts• Define and validate Build, Strip and Storage method including special to type tooling• Integrate and manage the design and manufacture of Ground Support Equipment through the supply chain.• Promulgate maintenance policy to Operators through Technical publications• Influence the design of assemblies to maximise maintainability• Provide technical support to MRO Operations both internally and externally in introducing, validating and completing Engine maintenance to ensure rate-ready, lean and production-friendly methods are created.• Support the identification of new opportunities to reduce the cost of Engine MRO• Continuously improve the processes and tools used to develop and support the definition of Engine MRO

Currently in my first year of the Advanced Practical Apprenticeship - moving on to work as an electrical maintenance engineer.Future role will include planned maintenance on machines and plant equipment as well as engineering projects.

•Responsible for the maintenance and repair of all the British Army weapon systems as part of a large multi skilled engineering team. Providing operational effectiveness tried and tested field experience and affable in house work ethic. •Cascading specific weapon training throughout a large geographical area to increase competency prior to deployment. •Responsible for the accounting and demanding of the unit spares, providing the necessary parts required to keep upwards of 4000 pieces of equipment serviceable. This coupled with the demand of a fast paced workshop means diligent and the ability to think on your feet is a must. •Reliability has been proven with deployments all over the country as well as abroad, usually working as the subject matter expert alone or within a small team. Deployed to Kenya and was expected to work alone keeping 120 weapon systems serviceable.•Providing vital information to my line management as well as working alongside them in order to complete any job with minimum hassle and maximum effectiveness. •Provides drive, inspiration and moral guidance for my team.
