I am currently working with a team of product managers and software, systems and AI/ML engineers. Together we manage Icetana’s product development and customer deployments.Our mission is to make large buildings and spaces safer by monitoring thousands of security cameras and detecting unusual behaviour. We do this while holding true to our principle of data privacy.

I helped approximately 1 day a week as a consultant on software development process, and helping to solve problems in system architecture, web application and database design.

I took on a temporary full time role to simplify architecture, set the direction for software and product development and to write code that would deliver the current projects on time. I hired a head of engineering to take over these responsibilities going forward.

As CTO of VGW I was involved in the company strategy, and for executing the technology parts of the strategy in the organisation.Along with the Engineering VPs I helped with creating a strong engineering culture, keeping our quality bar high, keeping focus on career development and held up the principals of continuous delivery and good engineering practices.My first strategic project was forming the team that built the central payment system that grew to supporting all payments in and out for all products in the company. The formation of this team and system was key to ensuring a robust approach to payment risks and opportunities. This team is about 20-30 people today and continues to run all payments for the company, and they have taken on a number of extra responsibilities since.I formed the Marketing Technology team which grew to building numerous integrations with marketing partners. Marketing was a big investment for the company which is why I decided to have the focus of an autonomous team working on it. They delivered a number of high value projects that made marketing more efficient and gave more capabilities to the Marketing team.I built the Cyber Security function in the company and moved to primarily in-sourcing cyber security work. I started by hiring a generalist senior security engineer and an experienced pentester. We started a grad program, training up juniors as our strategy for growing the cyber function. After I departed, Marc Loney (the senior security engineer) went on to become the Head of Security. During my time at VGW the team discovered and closed dozens of phishing sites, implemented a SIEM, locked down our cloud authentication, started gathering threat intelligence with DigitalShadows, successfully passed SOC2 for all our products and fixed many dependency and code vulnerabilities, amongst other things.

At VGW we have a number of established products and projects that are finding product-market fit. As VP Engineering I'm driving the structure of the growing engineering org in VGW which now has several software development teams in Perth - and a handful around the world. I also provide guidance on solving technical problems such as performance, architecture and quality in the product verticals themselves. I feel privileged to be working with some extremely smart software developers in the engineering team - some who are recognised in the industry for their expertise.

At Virtual Gaming Worlds we're developing an online social casino with sweepstake prizes for countries around the world including in the US. With huge foreseeable growth this year my role is to lead the development team to design, develop and test the Casino games and site to drive customer growth.

At Virtual Gaming Worlds we're developing a virtual currency online casino with prizes for countries around the world including in the US. With huge foreseeable growth this year my role is to help design, develop and test the software used for the front-end user interface and also the back-end server code to help take Chumba Casino to the next level.

At CommunityToGo I completed over 15 small to medium size full-stack projects including several user-facing projects and building an OAuth2 compliant SSO server for CommunityToGo products. The team delivered over 100 apps to the app store over a short space of time.Being a small team I took on many responsibilities including pre-sales, sales, project management, development and infrastructure maintenance.

In Oracle I was a technical specialist mainly involved with Middleware products.I started working at Oracle before I finished my degree, being hired after completing work experience with the company. My work has been across Oracle's stack. I am hands-on with the projects I have been involved in.The highlight was my time in India where we worked with one of the largest telco networks in the country with over 200m subscribers. We set up server racks in their data centre, configured the virtualisation layer, integrated over a dozen systems on the servers and this was used as a template for how they run these systems going forward. It was an intense project and I learned a lot from some very smart people.

During (and prior to) university I was employed as a barista at Brew-Ha Coffee Shop in Subiaco. I worked there for ~9 years and gained a wealth of experience in management, customer service and team work.
