Collaborated with Board of Directors to engage South Florida's diverse population of returned Peace Corps Volunteers, as well as students and community members interested in serving in the Peace Corps. Coordinated partnerships, developed civic engagement activities and networked to build strong relationships for the organization moving forward.

With 165,000 students, Miami Dade College is the largest institution of higher education in the nation, and with a 72% Hispanic student body, MDC awards more degrees to Hispanic students than any other University or College in the country. In my role as the College-Wide Director of Workforce Readiness & Internship Initiatives, I partnered with college leadership, faculty, staff, employers, students and the greater Miami community to develop, strengthen and oversee career development programming and opportunities.• Increased internship opportunities college-wide by 400%• Collaborated with leadership, faculty and staff across 8 campuses to establish innovative career development programming and training• Established new website, marketing strategy, resources and communication platform to engage with students, employers, faculty and staff and community partners• Created and facilitated an embedded career development program that was highlighted by the National Association of Colleges and Employers (NACE)• Supervised team of Workforce Readiness Career Advisors who work across 8 campuses• Partnered with employers and companies to create internship programs, meet workforce demands, align community needs with educational curriculum and design recruitment strategies

• Led service-learning trips to Costa Rica, the Dominican Republic, El Salvador and Guatamala for 90+ students• Developed and delivered training sessions on civic engagement, diversity and cross-cultural adaptation• Worked closely with and establish relationships with Peace Corps Volunteers, host country governments,community leaders, and community members to ensure a collaborative and impactful project experience• Managed and reported on the team’s annual project budget ($9,000-$10,000)• Mediated team meetings to build unity, evaluate daily plans and support volunteers through difficulties

• Developed three training sessions on Volunteer resiliency and support, as part of a Congressional initiative to standardize quality training for all Peace Corps volunteers and staff worldwide• Researched and evaluated Peace Corps Volunteers’ in-country support and training needs through the analysis and summarization of worldwide Annual Volunteer Surveys • Organized training materials for the development of an online, informational course for prospective volunteers

• Taught a combined 250 hours of ESL conversation and grammar classes within two elementary schools, a high school and an adult learning center in the community• Fostered relationships and partnerships with community and local government leaders to engineer the planning, construction and budget preparation and management of a $10,000 basketball court project • Organized and co-chaired Peace Corp Costa Rica’s first Diversity Committee, which created forums for PCVs/PCTs to express and celebrate their diversity, and provided resources on how to promote tolerance and diversity awareness in their respective communities• Developed and facilitated the “Hip-Hop and Poetry” workshop with 150 youth and adolescents, enabling them to express problems in the community or at home through song or spoken word.• Administered the “Art for Peace” workshop series with 75 elementary students, educating youth about the various forms of violence and methods for combating them.• Supported 40 orphaned and/or abused Costa Rican youth in two PANI (National Child Welfare Agency) shelters, through the incorporation of weekly projects, workshops and field trips
