I am a senior scientist with over 25 years of experience in project management and technical performance associated with environmental consulting. My project history demonstrates the strengths I bring to my clients and their project needs. I have supported and overseen multiple environmental permits ranging from large-scale individual permits for industrial plants to smaller, more nuanced coastal permitting for an innovative floodwater storage system for a small coastal community in North Carolina. My ability to work with diverse local and Federal regulatory agencies has been recognized by two separate awards (FHWA 2011 Award for Environmental Excellence and USACE Commander’s Award for Public Service in 2009), which were given for working on complex interagency teams in developing a rapid functional assessment for wetlands. I am always focused on keeping projects on schedule, and my success in building relationships and partnerships with the agencies provide tangible benefits to the clients on whose projects I have the honor of assisting. My specialties include functional assessments, delineation/determination of waters of the U.S., environmental permitting (404/401), Geographical Information Systems, and environmental documentation support (NEPA for FHWA, USFS, NRC, and FERC).I manage a strong team of colleagues of direct and indirect reports that have backgrounds in 404/401 permitting, NEPA, water quality modeling, GIS, stream and wetland mitigation, aquatic and water quality sampling, natural resources monitoring, Section 7 compliance and many more!
