I am a second year student studying Mechatronics Engineering at the University of Waikato. I am an intelligent, disciplined and easy going individual, passionate about learning and developing new skills. I have experience working in software development teams creating software to educate children and teenagers in Math, English and Digital Technologies. In these jobs I developed my skills using Javascript, HTML, CSS and Construct game engine. The number of scholarships I have received have enabled me to focus on my dream of becoming a successful engineer, while still having time for my other passions. I strive to be honest in everything I do, giving nothing less than 100%.INTERESTSSport and fitness: I enjoy building as well as challenging my fitness on a daily basis, trying to maintain a balance of speed, power and endurance. During high school I participated in the school ultimate frisbee, football and basketball teams. I was awarded MVP in my basketball team as well as receiving the Top Senior Award in Sport and Conditioning in 2020.Outdoors and travel: I enjoy spending time in nature, hiking, camping, swimming, mountain biking, trail running, caving, climbing, fishing and exploring. I have had the opportunity to hike many of the Great Walks in New Zealand as well as camping in YellowStone and Yosemite National Park in the United States. Throughout 2014 I visited 20 different countries with my family. An experience that allowed me to learn more about other cultures and more appreciate the beautiful country of New Zealand.Music: Music is a very big part of my life. I have been singing from a young age at church events, school productions and with my family. I am the lead Drummer in the Christian band Author’s Bay where I have played the drums and sung in many concerts, two appearances at Festival One as well as a full album. I studied Music throughout high school, getting all Excellences in the performance and composition standards I did.
