UW alumni with a MIS degree from the Foster School of Business. I’ve worn many different hats over my career, but as an Enterprise Architect - most of my time is spent consulting, strategizing, and implementing solutions at scale. I strongly believe in challenging existing ideas and promoting change to grow the business. It might feel uncomfortable - but absolutely necessary for any successful organization when done correctly.I’ve had the opportunity to work with all areas of the business with systems in Accounting, Marketing, Store Operations, Loss Prevention, HR, and more. Project examples include designing inventory systems to provide live inventory for our omni-channel business as well as full enterprise migrations of Web e-commerce platforms & point of sale. I also lead the selection and architecture of core commerce platforms for different Zumiez retail concepts. Other core responsibilities involve implementing long term strategies on how our engineering teams operate and execute, as well as setting the vision of our core Zumiez tech stack. This includes focusing on key data initiatives involving data warehousing solutions & designing APIs to promote and streamline data access across the entire organization as well as externally with partners and vendors. What I enjoy most is teaching and mentoring team members on concepts and projects, but also learning from my team on approaches that I never would have even considered. I place high value on ethics and integrity, and that people & culture come first in any organization. I am also a huge supporter of NASA / SpaceX, as they are critical to our pursuit of understanding the universe. Organizations like this keeps us dreaming & believing in the world of tomorrow. When not working in IT, I am passionate towards Astronomy, Tennis, Snowboarding & Boxing. I’m also oddly obsessed with Tetris and can play at a competitive level.
