I am currently in my first year as a graduate-entry medical student (MBBS) at The University of Nottingham. My current specialist interests are focused on the fields of neurosurgery, cardiothoracic surgery, and orthopaedics, coupled with an emphasis on clinical academic research.Prior to commencing my graduate medical studies, I completed a Bachelor of Biomedical Science (Hons) (2023) and BSc in Physiology (2022) at The University of Auckland. My honours research project, as a part of the Curtis Group / Murray Research Lab, examined neuropathologies surrounding the unfolded protein response (UPR) and it's effect on cell stress in neurodegenerative diseases such as Chronic Traumatic Encephalopathy (CTE), Alzheimer's and Parkinson's Disease. Aside from my research interests and academic projects, I have taught in a number of undergraduate courses in the Department of Anatomy and Medical Imaging, and Department of Physiology as a laboratory teaching assistant and tutor. These experiences have helped to develop my collaborative teaching skills, as well as hone my expertise on these topics.Following completion of my medical degree, I aim to pursue further clinical training as a foundation doctor with a focus on both clinical practice and academic research.
