Having my previous role made redundant due to changes in government policies, I decided to apply for this role at Gentoo. I was responsible for ensuring the continual performance of Gentoo and Empower Community Solar PV portfolios worth over £15 million pounds. This role required me to constantly analyse large volumes of generation data from over 5000 PV systems and identify low performing assets. Using the processes that I have developed to optimise the portfolio performance and working with our R&M team to fix failed/low performing systems I continue to meet our contractual obligations. The processes that I developed also ensure that the meter reads that are required for FiT submissions were accurate and passed validation from the FiT Licensee which ensure all claims are paid. To further enhance the performance of the growing PV portfolios, I required additional administration support this allowed a management opportunity for me and additional time to focus on the other higher level aspects of PV while maintaining portfolio performance. To have consistency in the performance of the PV portfolios, I developed a training manual and trained staff on the new process ensuring that the PV process continues to perform from FiT registrations, claiming and fault analysis. Refining these processes has led to increased value for money which helps maximise the local Community Fund. Through the positive relationship that I have developed with Empower Community Solar and the success of the ECS1 PV portfolio performance, we are now working on ECS2 PV portfolio and additional portfolios ECS have across the UK. The experience I have gained from analysing PV data has also allowed me to design accurate financial models using Excel to predict future FiT income for a growing portfolio and the impact that changes in FiT rate have on the income received. I have also created financial models around the RHI which were used to form business cases for Biomass installation at Gentoo. Show less

Using Energy Company Obligation (ECO) funding, I was responsible for identifying areas that would bring in funding within our housing stock and externally with clients that we work with. Masters Project: My MSc project will be focusing on the application of Photovoltaic systems on-board ships to maximise the on-board energy production from solar radiation, creating a model for a specific route of a ship that will simulate the estimated irradiance levels expected on the sea and compare this to actual measured results to produce an accurate model. This project is part of a larger multi-disciplinary European project working to reduce carbon emissions in the maritime industry and I will be travelling to Holland to meet with engineers and clients who are working on additional aspects of the project.Skills Developed: Each module for my MSc has deadlines, course work to complete and projects that overlap, organising my time affectively is a key factor for successful results. We would host corporate groups in their team building activities, school groups and individuals. Communication has always been a big part of my life while teaching and travelling.
