1. Assisted students during lab sessions: a. Answered students' questions about experiments b. Assisted students in operation of equipment/computers c. Enforcement of proper safety procedures (i.e. goggles, aprons, gloves) d. Clean-up of broken glassware and chemical spills e. Coordination of proper waste disposal by students2. Preparation of experiments: a. Read experiment and discuss lab requirements with instructors b. Prepared chemicals, solutions, and demonstrations for each experiment c. Distributed special equipment when needed (i.e. glassware, pH sensors, spectrophotometers) d. Tracked orders, recorded arrival dates, and confirmed payment processing to vendor e. Preparation of budgetary requirements for upcoming fiscal year f. Recorded departmental expenditures and maintained details expense reports each fiscal year4. Maintained laboratory safety and cleanliness: a. General calibration and maintenance of lab equipment (i.e. pH sensors, digital scales, FTIR) b. Ensured general lab supplies were available to students and instructors (wash bottles, acetone, Kimwipes, etc.) c. Regular inspection of safety equipment such as goggles, aprons, eye wash stations, showers, and fire extinguishing equipment d. Application of basic first aid when needed e. Proper cleaning and storage of used lab equipment
