My first experience in sales was when a potential manager invited me on a ride-along to see if it may be a good fit. After cold-calling in-person and on the phone, visiting existing clients and researching others, at the end of the day I loved it! I have loved it ever since. From research, to outreach, to close, to nurture, I enjoy it all. I have a passion for sales... the right way. As a wonderful sales trainer I had once succinctly put it, be honest, authentic and transparent. I think of sales similarly to Maslow's hierarchy of needs. The base would be ethics, followed by are you doing the right thing for the client and your company. Then from there are you digging deep in discovery to fully understand the client's current and desired situations. Only then are we as sales professionals able to provide the best options for everyone involved.
