I am currently leading the Technologies Curriculum at an all-girls secondary college in Townsville, I teach Senior Design and ICT subjects. I also teach junior Digital Technologies and Design and Technologies. After working as an Aircraft Technician in the RAAF, I relocated to Townsville to take on a new challenge. I opened a leadlighting business, manufacturing stained glass windows and creating and delivering a range of adult classes. This is where my passion for teaching began. After completing my teaching training in 2004, I spent time in the Primary sector as a classroom teacher. My interest in technology saw me take on the role of the ICT coordinator at the school. This involved supporting the delivery of the Technologies Curriculum and upskilling staff as well as sourcing equipment and software.In 2014, I moved to the secondary sector to concentrate on my passion for technology. In 2018, my experience teaching Technologies in both primary and secondary sectors led me to a number of lecturing and mentoring roles with Undergraduate and Master's preservice teachers at James Cook University.I am passionate about improving both the use of and attitudes towards technology, for both teachers and students, with a focus on supporting and encouraging girls into Technology based subjects.
