The higher demand allows for a focus on per part improvement over the traditional set up improvements. -New Manufacturing Methods Revived a new manufacturing prospect, roll form, that would reduce the forming costs in half and could double the capacity of the product line, which sat idle for over 4 years. Completed the initial qualification per customer’s requirements and submitted numerous technical reports for approval. Currently identifying the root cause of the variation in the structural integrity of the manufactured parts by leading an internal investigation, potential savings of $320K per year.-Stand in Maintenance Supervisor (4 months) Revitalized the P.M. schedule to prevent a major finding in external sitewide audit. Buster Biofuels is a renewable energy company that converts restaurant's used cooking oil into biodiesel for use in diesel engines.-Collaborated with biodiesel experts to determine baseline operating parameters and optimal reactant mixtures to begin plant production.-Collected data and analyzed results to refine the production process by methodically changing flow rates, initial reaction composition, and percent completion of reaction, resulting in a reliable, quality product.-Implemented a process that reduced the downtime between subsequent reactions, which allowed more biodiesel to be produced in a shorter amount of time. -Maintained, repaired, and performed equipment troubleshooting to proactively prevent critical failures.-Optimized production processes by generating production schedules, forecasting production needs, and monitoring workload of employees. -Assessed resources and managed shortfalls to ensure uninterrupted production.-Managed, trained, and mentored nine employees to operate the plant 24 hours a day, seven days a week, on four different shifts. This included on-call support 24-7.-Created detailed standard operating procedures (SOP's) for every aspect of the plant to ensure quality control and to supply consistent instructions to staff.-Interacted with vendors to supply replacement parts, obtain manufacture data sheets, and repair trucks. -Authored the follow-up review to a $2.8M grant awarded by the Alternative and Renewable Fuel and Vehicle Technology Program (ARFVTP), which laid the groundwork for future grants and the ability to expand production.
