I am leading a group of marine, social, and data scientists who care about the protection of biodiversity, particularly the wonderful creatures living on the seafloor of the Swedish West coast. The Swedish eDNA lab (https://marine.gu.se/english/research/marine-biology/swedna) is a research group financed by the environmental research fund (miljöforskningsanslag) from the Swedish Environmental Protection Agency’s (SEPA), in collaboration with the Swedish Agency of Marine and Water Management (SwAM). Here we customize the use of eDNA detection methods for applications in environmental monitoring of aquatic environments.

ENVRI Plus is a European Environmental Research Infrastructure Program (www.envriplus.eu) creating a more coherent, interdisciplinary and interoperable cluster of Environmental Research Infrastructures across Europe. Within the program I am developing a pilot for a marine citizen science observatory.
