About Matthieu Amyotte
I am an avid environmentalist and through my time spent outdoors at home and around the world I have developed a strong appreciation for wild places. This appreciation has led to a strong sense of environmental responsibility, both on a personal and business level.I am currently pursuing a Master of Applied Science in Electrical and Computer Engineering. My research is focused on power electronics for renewable energy systems. In particular, I am working to characterize and apply high-efficiency wide bandgap semiconductor devices for a variety of power electronic converter topologies. I am also the graduate advisor of the Sustaingineering team, an international and multi-disciplinary student project that develops and deploys sustainable technology for remote and developing regions. Before returning to school, I was an Electrical Engineer (E.I.T.) with three years of electronics experience covering all stages of the product lifecycle – from conceptualization and prototyping to manufacturing. A few of my major contributions have involved Testing and improving prototypes to meet project and regulatory (safety and EMI) requirements Developing automated test and manufacturing procedures for improved efficiency and early failure detection Performing failure analysis and determining appropriate short- and long-term solutions Leading a student design team on the creation of a sensors network for a prototype hydrogen fuel cell vehicleLong term, I am excited to apply my technical background to the development of green technology focused on sustainability, environmental responsibility, and renewable energy. I am currently seeking engineering design and test positions following my graduation in April 2019. With my diverse skill set and determination, I know that I would have a substantial positive impact on any team that I have the opportunity to work with.
Listed skills include Electronics, Electrical Engineering, Testing, Circuit Design, and 32 others.
