About Matthijs Van Winden Ra Cfa

I joined BNG Bank in November 2024 as the Head of Non-Financial Risk Management. In this role, I am responsible for managing the team that keeps 2nd line oversight of operational and security risks across BNG and provides support and challenge to those managing operational risks. I joined MUFG Bank Europe (MBE) in September 2023 as the Head of Operational Risk Management, responsible for 2nd line oversight on operational risks for MBE. Before that, in 2014, I joined Robeco as an Internal Auditor and performed audits within all Robeco departments, both in the Netherlands and abroad in Asia, the Middle East and Europe. In my last Internal Audit role, as the Teamlead Internal Audit, I was also the deputy Head of Internal Audit. In 2021, I joined the Operational Risk Management department of Robeco, where I was responsible for the Risk Monitoring and Projects teams and co-headed the ORM team. During my first year in this role, I was also the project manager for the project to ensure that Robeco is demonstrably in control over its risks and adheres to the applicable rules and regulations. During the years at PwC, I was involved in financial, operational and IT audits within the financial services industry. In 2013 I went on a short term secondment to PwC UK in London, to work within the Assurance Transformation department. During the secondment in London, I was involved in internal projects related to setting up data enabled auditing.I am a certified financial auditor with experience in the field of (internal) auditing and risk management within the financial services industry, with a specific focus on investment management and banking. I completed my Master in Accounting & Control (MSc.) in 2008, the post-master education for Register Accountant (RA) in 2012 and the Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) program in 2019.
