Born in 1980, I graduated in Natural Sciences at University of Milan in April 2003, with a thesis on the breeding ecology of Falco peregrinus, and continued at Milan with my PhD (discussed Jan. 2007), dedicated to evolution and speciation in Sylvia cantillans, shown to be a complex of different species. I am particularly interested in animal ecology and conservation, evolution and phylogeography. Most of my work is now dedicated to conservation, and especially to biodiversity in farmland habitats, rallids, shrikes and other birds of conservation concern, monitoring plans of terrestrial Vertebrates at regional scale, ecological networks from local to regional scale, conservation and management of areas and species of Community Importance, definition of conservation status and targets for avian species at national scale. Since Sept. 2021, researcher (RTDB) at Milan University (Dept. Environmental Science and Policy).
