Matt Johnson is the Managing Partner of Johnson Venture Partners (JVP), an Atlanta-based micro venture capital fund investing in seed and early-stage startups. Matt sources investment opportunities, conducts due diligence, supports portfolio companies, and administers all investments made by the fund. He has executed investments in over 40 venture-backed companies throughout 15 years of early-stage investing experience. A passionate supporter of the Southeast venture ecosystem, Matt is a member of Atlanta Technology Angels and VentureSouth and serves on the selection committee for Venture Atlanta, one of the largest VC and startup conferences in the nation. He is a frequent lecturer and panelist on the topics of startup investing, innovation, and entrepreneurship and has been a board member and advisor to numerous startups. In addition to his investing career, Matt is a faculty member at Thomas University in his hometown of Thomasville, GA, where he teaches business courses and develops entrepreneurial education programs. Matt holds a BA and an MBA from Clemson University and is currently pursuing a doctorate with a research concentration in Entrepreneurship.
