I am a self-taught web developer with a wide range of skills from LAMP development to infra design, from waterfall to agile methodologies. I also have an extensive leadership toolbox to help the teams I work with grow and exceed expectations. After earning my degree in computer science at Loughborough University I joined a small directory business called UFindUs, later purchased by BT, where I designed and developed a long term project to provide SME's with an easy to use set of tools for building and managing their own SEO friendly websites.After working for UFU/BT for almost 5 years I decided to move into the education sector with a small company based in Halifax called FrogTrade (now FrogEducation). During my time with Frog I was given the opportunity to work with some incredibly talented individuals across a wide range of disciplines all with one goal in mind, to better the education of children through technology.A couple of years in, I was offered an opportunity to move to Malaysia to support FrogAsia in their goal to change a nation and remove the barriers to education through the 1Bestarinet programme. The role I play now is a far more leadership centric one than I had envisaged but I wouldn't change this for the world. On a daily basis I am responsible for a multi-discipline team of 52ish individuals who all work together to deliver an amazing set of products that are transforming education across the 10k public schools in Malaysia.In order to move to a more rapid development model, I have led the team through a series of changes towards a more devops / agile set of methodologies through a mixture of scrum and XP techniques which now includes the development and deployment of an OpenShift Origin cluster to support both the rapid nature of change and growth we need to make the programme a success.Any queries, feel free to ask ;)
