Matthew Kells Email and Phone Number
I’m a ten-time Emmy Award-winning director, producer, and writer of television shows, series, and documentaries. I’m skilled in developing creative and compelling content, overseeing production workflows and schedules, and collaborating with crew, subject matter experts, and high-level talent to create engaging and audience-centric end products. As a leader, I aim to inspire my team by listening to their ideas and bringing them to life in an exciting and successful way. I enjoy mentoring staff and providing them with skills and knowledge to succeed and grow in the industry. As supervising producer on the Rachael Ray Show, I designed a writing mentorship program to provide new writers with guidance and support and teach them about the writing process. As a producer and director, I always look to identify the story and then tell it in the most organic way possible. My favorite projects include “Subway Q&A” and “Daniel Tiger’s Neighborhood”. On “Subway Q&A”, I produced and directed the improv-style comedy program almost entirely within the NYC subway system. For “Daniel Tiger’s Neighborhood”, I produced and directed the live-action, educational interstitials that supplemented the animated program. Both projects required me to work with actors and participants with no previous on-camera experience. For the past 12 years, I’ve been writing and producing show opens and special projects for the Racheal Ray Show, developing over 160 creative and entertaining show opens each season, along with promotional spots for holidays, theme weeks, and special guests. As a dad and husband, I enjoy spending time with family, playing bocce, winning poker games, cooking, and perfecting the perfect Bacon, Egg, and Cheese sandwich (which may be why I enjoy working on food and lifestyle productions!).I’ve received multiple awards for my work, including Daytime & New York Emmys, New York Festival Medals, Cine Golden Eagle Awards, and a Telly Award. If you’d like to know more about my professional story or my production company, Spooky Truth Productions, let’s connect!
