Program manager of Software Maintenance and Support (SMS) group of AWIPS Program. Responsibilities include the leadership of nearly 50 staff (Keane and other Raytheon subcontractors) in the SMS team, and additional financial and staffing responsibilities for 35 Keane employees. Manage budget of over $5 million to drive company financial goals and objectives. Directly manage leaders of software maintenance, and software integration and test teams. Report monthly on performance, staffing, new business opportunities. Support company initiatives including proposals and business development.

Daily operational manager of Software Maintenance and Support (SMS) group of AWIPS Program. Through dual role as deputy program manager and release manager, provided overall management and guidance to all technical aspects of the SMS Team. Reported to the SMS Manager (Keane Program Manager) and provide assistance and support for Keane program activities, including financial reporting and staffing decisions.

Leader and owner of the software development, test, and integration schedule. Responsible for delivery of software on schedule and according to requirements baseline. Leadership involves managing team of Release Leads who oversee daily activities of software lifecycle and Documentation Specialists who create, update, and deliver release documentation. Partner with Government release managers to deliver software as designed. Report release status to SMS Manager, who manages the relationship with Raytheon. Manage interactions between contractor software development, test, configuration management, and environment teams. Responsible for all AWIPS baseline software development activities.

Managed daily activities of the development and delivery of a specific AWIPS major software release over a nine-month period. Coordinated activities of the release including requirements definition and acceptance, software development and testing, and Government acceptance. Significant portion of duties involved problem tracking and problem resolution throughout the lifecycle.

Coordinated efforts of nine-member test team and mentored junior test team members. Led transition of test efforts from previous contractor to current contractor by using extensive knowledge of AWIPS system to ensure smooth transition and deliver immediate success.

Test Director - Headed the Integration & Test team providing system integration and acceptance testing (SIT/SyAT). As Test Director, guided a team of testers through the SIT and SyAT phases of the test cycle. Created SIT and SyAT plans to ensure all testing was completed on schedule, and collaborated with the Government Test Director and test team to ensure success. Managed test systems to ensure software and hardware integrity and ensured successful integration of all requirements. Factory Test Team Leader - During AWIPS Factory Acceptance Testing (FAT), supervised a team of testers through an accelerated deployment schedule approximately 50% faster than originally planned. Interfaced with numerous project team leaders to ensure all hardware and software were available, the systems were built properly and testing completed as scheduled. Coordinated witnessed tests and addressed any system discrepancies with Government Test Director.Test Engineer - Verified functionality of NWS Office of Hydrologic Development (OHD) applications, including verifying and closing discrepancy reports and writing new discrepancy reports as needed. Support Test Director as-needed performing system level tests on AWIPS test bed platforms.

Performed system-level and user-level testing, discovered and verified discrepancies, and wrote test procedures.Performed quality assurance reviews on software releases to improve the test team’s rate and timeliness of discrepancy discovery. Formulated procedures to implement quality improvements. These improvements led to a 100% improvement in the timeliness of discrepancy discovery.Conducted user training at customer field sites. Developed and delivered training material both in a centralized center for system administrators and at various locations nationwide.
