Part of team involved in the creating, testing, and maintaining a large-scale administration and payment system for pensioners belonging to a large public-sector union pension plan; developed familiarity with Oracle database structure, Oracle Forms and Form Builder, and Oracle Report Builder; extensive programming in PL/SQL, limited exposure to Visual C++.

Applied pension background to development and testing of retirement planning websites customized according to clients’ company pension plans and needs; programming and/or debugging of modules and calculators regarding individual pension calculations, annuity calculations, group benefits enrolment and administration, and various other financial concepts.

Pension plan valuations for going concern and wind-up situations, including solvency and gain/loss analysis; individual benefit calculations for retirements and terminations; Pension Adjustments and Past Service Pension Adjustments; information returns; annual statements, data reconciliation and other administrative work for ongoing and new clients.

As a summer student, worked primarily on three projects – compiled data, prepared and checked benefit statements; compiled and verified data for a larger pension plan valuation; primary responsibility for performing a smaller valuation, including solvency and gain/loss analysis.
