I love to bring order out of chaos. From the time I was very young, I was looking for bigger and bigger puzzles to put together. 200, 500, 1000, 2000-piece jigsaw puzzles, word problems, logic problems, class projects... Being able to do puzzles with others? Even better. What are the patterns? How can we categorize? What are we missing? What do we need to sweep out of the way in order to be more focused on one important thing at a time? How can we optimize everyone into their area of strength so that we are more efficient and energized? There is beauty in the infinite number of little moves that it takes to complete something big. To take something that is broken into many pieces and build them together to make something beautiful and worthwhile. Projects are like this as well: Who and what are the pieces? What do we need to know? How can our diverse team with varying motivations fit this all together? Do we see patterns that speak to where we go next? How can we break down our larger objectives into bite-sized key results that are achievable, measurable, and give us something to celebrate?The intersection of diverse people, complex projects, competing priorities, and important objectives forms the ultimate puzzle. So many pieces...and the opportunity to make things both simple and complex, together. I'm still just a kid at heart who can't believe his good fortune to still be putting together puzzles with others for a living. With over a decade and a half as a leader in financial service organizations across operations and IT development, I consider myself as a positive thinking servant-leader with a proven track record of forming and leading high-functioning project delivery teams, mentoring up-and-coming leaders, and making decisions with consensus buy-in to move projects forward. My approach is transparent, empowering, and collaborative, encouraging teams to be self-supporting while continuing to improve process efficiencies within practices and enterprise initiatives.
