So how do schools ask the right questions to find the right solutions?I'm delighted to be one of the co-founders of The EdTech Evidence Group (EEG), which brings together leading UK EdTech companies who share a belief that there needs to be a step-change in the level of evidence available about EdTech. The EEG believes schools and trusts need to be able to easily assess the value and impact of EdTech products, services and platforms.In particular, for my part I want to see schools given better advice about the questions to ask, evidence and service levels to demand, when procuring EdTech. We do this though our web site (because 67% of parents look on-line for help), breaking down the curriculum into manageable chunks and having expert teachers explain each part. We provide easy to understand supporting resources, including video tutorials for core skills. Parents can even post their own questions, anytime, to experienced teachers and get individual answers. This means parents know exactly how to help their children at home, are supported and motivated to do so. The school knows that parents are getting accurate, helpful information that supports classroom teaching rather than contradicting it. The school stays in control but the school-parent-child partnership takes on a whole new dimension.
