Co-founded and launched a website to provide news and information on tropical storms and hurricanes for the entire Atlantic basin.

I contribute forecast posts each week to the site and during major weather events in Houston as needed.I also engage in periodic longform writing for the site, including post-mortems on events that just happened, as well as in depth discussion of past weather events in Houston's history (our Space City Rewind series).I also work to contribute ideas to help direct the future of the site.

Lead meteorologist for a Fortune 500 energy company that helped keep Cheniere employees and assets safe through Hurricane Harvey in 2017 and countless other storms, floods, freezes, and everything in between.I focus on traditional energy trading weather forecasts for the U.S. (1-20 day, subseasonal, seasonal) and point-specific forecasts for Cheniere's LNG facilities, including 14 day hourly temperature forecasts, highly useful fog outlooks, and daily tropical weather updates.I'm an internal and external relationship builder, managing & collaborating with our other meteorologist, working with countless internal "customers," and forging strong ties with third party services to improve our data availability. I also manage our weather data & travel budget.

I periodically write about weather in my free time. I have contributed content featured on FiveThirtyEight.com since its launch in spring 2014. I've also been blogging on weather and weather-related issues since 2006, both for work and independently. I helped launch a very popular weather blog focused on Central New York while at WKTV. After leaving, I launched my own blog on my own time (currently a WordPress housed blog called State of Occlusion: http://adiabat.wordpress.com/), which I still periodically post in from time to time, mainly as a means to communicate significant weather information to friends and family in the Northeast. I also spent some time contributing articles to a popular Philadelphia weather blog, phillywx.com. I have had my insights on weather included by many news organizations, including the New York Times, Washington Post's Capital Weather Gang, Wall Street Journal, Houston Chronicle, Texas Standard (NPR), and USA Today.

Was responsible for all weather information at a global investment bank, with a focus on commodities (natural gas, power, ags) and secondary focus on the equities desk. I used temperature inputs to produce ISO demand forecasts, in addition to providing real-time updates on model guidance as it came out each day.I successfully helped our business continuity team prepare for and respond to Hurricane Sandy's impacts in the New York City metro area in 2012, which resulted in significant positive feedback from management.I also worked closely with non-commodities oriented groups at the bank, focused on equities and event-driven weather as needed (how it would impact certain companies, geographic regions, year on year differences as an input for their retail sales analysis, among other applications).I participated in client meetings, briefed clients and other DB employees on our short-term and long-term weather view, and contributed to internal strategy meetings, with a focus on natural gas.

I created nine-day temperature forecasts for several locations across Southern California, used by load forecasters and traders to determine energy needs and provided real-time updates throughout the day. I also produced monthly and seasonal outlooks and expanded our wind forecasting abilities by developing day-ahead wind generation forecasts.I assisted our other meteorologist in implementing an internal website and weather blog to help improve our communication of weather information throughout the company.I worked collaboratively to develop, improve, and implement an alternative temperature forecast strategy to help account for extreme volatility in heat wave situations.I led daily group weather forecast discussions and briefings to communicate forecast details.

I led a team of four on-air meteorologists, created seven-day weather forecasts, broadcasted five daily weathercasts and anchored severe and winter weather coverage.I helped develop and significantly expanded an extremely successful weather blog, which grew our digital presence and communicated weather forecast details to a number of new viewers.I regularly performed newspaper interviews, school/community group visits, was responsible for phone and radio forecasts, helped train incoming meteorologists, and supervised interns.

I anchored weekend morning weather cut-ins, produced weather graphics, and filled-in as needed. I regularly wrote forecasts and discussions for DOT and School clients with detailed 36 hour forecasts of temperature and precipitation, and operated independently owned Doppler Radar.
