Matt's career in IT started in 2003 when he landed a job at SEG Communications (Draytek UK), where he learned the basics of TCP/IP networking.From SEG Matt moved in 2007 to Luxtech Ltd, an MSP IT Support company, where he joined as a firewall engineer. There he learned Windows servers, various types of storage and developed his networking skills, expanding his knowledge to switches and other firewall manufacturers.Matt then joined Wirebird, another MSP, as a 2nd/3rd line support engineer in June 2010, where he started as a Project Engineer and was discovered to have a skill for Project Management.At the end of March 2015 Matt joined the internal IT team at Legility (then Unified/Inventus, and later to become Consilio) as an Infrastructure Specialist. At Unified Matt's first major project was to implement an ISMS aligned with ISO27001, which was certified by BSI in February 2016.In 2017 Matt was promoted to the role of Senior Infrastructure Specialist; putting him more in control of the global IT infrastructure projects and general cybersecurity across the company. Matt successfully delivered complex infrastructure projects in London, Ireland, Germany, Chicago and Hong Kong involving Hyper-V clusters, resilient and secure LAN and WAN networks and disaster recovery sites.In 2019 Matt commissioned a 3rd party penetration test. This test enlightened Matt to the world of red-teaming and the art of ethical hacking, which he then went on to practise in his own time and learn more about on CTF sites.Most recently, at the beginning of March 2023, Matt joined the Cybersecurity team at Rebellion as a Cybersecurity Specialist. Matt is excited to be putting his ethical hacking skills and 20 years of IT experience to good use, and learning more about the world of cybersecurity, protecting the Rebellion from enemies both foreign and domestic.
