During my initial position with Cushman & Wakefield, I led the GIS mapping group through several company acquisitions including Nevada, Washington, and Idaho with a collective staff of 300 spread out across 10 offices. I led a team of GIS specialists to develop a new GIS server and web mapping application that outperformed all pre-existing platforms. In 2006 I was approached by a legal firm, Parr Waddoups Brown Gee & Loveless, and asked to provide an expert opinion for a road/land dispute case. This required extensive research and the creation GIS data points and maps. I prepared a detailed report, accompanying affidavit, and presented my findings at the Third District Court of Summit County, Utah. This provided critical support and the ultimate settlement in favor of PWBG&L’s client.

Over the course of four years, I had the pleasure of teaching GIS concepts and ESRI software functionality to aspiring urban planners at the University of Utah. I greatly enjoyed my time teaching, and as an alumni of the U of U, it meant a great deal to me to be able to give back. I often offered extended support to students by providing additional workshops where they could acquire real-world application skills of the technology they were learning.
