I am currently a contractor in support of the Office of Water Prediction at the National Water Center at NOAA, working on improving the flood inundation mapping capability. In this position I have been the scientific and technical director, and project manager. I have enjoyed and excelled at this relatively new role of directing all aspects of the project and the team. The work uses open-source QGIS and Python libraries (pandas, geopandas, rasterio), the code is maintained in GitHub and Docker, and AWS cloud services (EC2, ECR, EFS, S3, Batch) are used for processing.
