As a CFP® professional, I act in a fiduciary capacity when providing investment advice and financial planning. This requires me to put my client's interests ahead of my own when providing critical recommendations around investment choices and retirement planning. I am a veteran of the Austin financial advisory community with over 25 years of experience building financial strategies for families approaching retirement and business owners trying to sell and exit the business. I hold several FINRA securities licenses and Texas Insurance licenses and routinely provide the investment and insurance solutions that the retirement analysis requires.When I'm not at the office, I enjoy spending time with my wife Barbara Jo, our kids and grandkids. We love to travel around the U.S. and take Bella- our Dachshund/King Charles Cavalier mix - camping and hiking. A recovering dirt-bike racer, I now limit my two-wheeled activities to my mountain bike.I have taken on a long-term restoration project- a 1960 Chevy El Camino. Starting with a rusty relic that didn't run, I am finding out over and over again why I am a financial advisor and not a mechanic. In giving back to an organization close to my heart, I served on the Board of Directors for the Samaritan Center for Counseling and Pastoral Care in Austin for 4 years, including 2 years as vice president. I continue to volunteer for special projects at The Samaritan Center, especially the Samaritan Cup Golf Tournament.
