I'm a product and engineering leader with over 25 years of experience in leading and scaling teams that focus on user experience innovation and engineering for web, mobile and TV. At Netflix, I spent 13 years leading Product Engineering teams (600 engineers and software leaders) that built the Netflix streaming service with an emphasis on user experience and client technology. My teams were responsible for innovation, implementation and integration of the Netflix streaming experience across devices as well as the Netflix Studio Technology applications that are used to manage the creation, production and management of Netflix movies and TV shows. On the consumer side my teams focused on bringing delight to Netflix members (growing from 15 million to 220 million during that time) and attracting new members around the world. We built the streaming technology and user experience used on hundreds of devices including Smart TVs, gaming consoles, set-top boxes, mobile and tablet devices, and the netflix.com website for PC/Mac. We strived for continual improvement of the streaming and user experience, with a heavy emphasis on experimentation through A/B testing. On the studio/enterprise side, I helped grow and lead teams that built mobile and web applications used by Netflix Studio and Production teams to discover, finance, produce, and promote Netflix Originals.Prior to Netflix, I led the client software and applications teams at TV Works (later Comcast) that built interactive TV applications for cable set-tops.
