We recently developed the online professional certificate program: Leading the Sustainability Transformation. This intensive 10-week program uses a Learn-Practice-Apply model of learning, combining on-demand microcontent with a realistic virtual team simulation, and an applied workplace project. Taught the course "Systems Tools for the Sustainable Enterprise" in the Sustainable Innovation-MBA program. Also helped students scope their summer practicum projects.

In this extension of my faculty role at Green Mountain College, I applied my background in management training to help further the College’s goal of integrating personal and career development for students into its liberal arts curriculum/co-curriculum, and supporting long-term post-graduation development. I led initiatives through GMC’s Office of Career and Personal Development to help students discover their interests and purpose, gain professional experience through internships and research, create their own career paths, find meaningful work while earning a good living, and continue their development throughout their careers.

In addition to my graduate and undergraduate teaching duties (details below), I co-authored Sustainability 2020, Green Mountain College’s strategic plan for achieving authentic sustainability by the end of the decade, while chairing the Sustainability 2020 Task Force that developed the relevant framework of metrics. At HPS (now isee systems, inc.), I trained organization leaders in systems thinking and system dynamic modeling, using an interactive process of discussion and engagement to encourage the exchange of information and perspectives. In addition, I helped develop dynamic computer models to solve complex business problems in close consultation with management teams.

As an internal consultant within SGI’s manufacturing division, my focus was on leading a team-based process reengineering effort that reduced inventory and decreased costs on one of SGI's workstation production lines.

I led several research programs in the fusion energy field, while also developing high-power radio frequency (RF) systems to couple energy to plasmas for heating and current drive in fusion reactors.
