I formed MCMS Limited in April 1996 with the objective of providing professional Quantity Surveying and Construction Management consultancy services within the construction industry. Since its formation, MCMS has provided a variety of services to a many different types of client, both in the UK and Europe. Examples of work undertaken include the preparation of tender documentation and departmental procedures, the review of contractual arrangements, the review of firms’ health and safety arrangements in the light of CDM Regulations, the preparation of budget estimates and bills of quantity, the compilation of tenders, post contract quantity surveying services, building surveying services, contract administration, the preparation of final accounts, auditing, dispute resolution, expert advice on contractual disputes and professional negligence, the preparation, assessment and negotiation of loss and expense claims, expert witness work in arbitration and litigation proceedings and advocacy in adjudication and arbitration proceedings. The majority of my time is now spent acting as Adjudicator, Arbitrator, Mediator or Expert Determiner.I have has been involved with a number of high profile projects, including the Millennium Dome, the Channel Tunnel Rail Link, the Royal Albert Hall, Merrill Lynch’s European Head Office, Somerset House and the redevelopment of Hungerford Bridge and a broad range of disputes concerning building, engineering, infrastructure, rail and PFI projects.
