Matt started with New Belgium Brewing Company in 2002. Matt’s background with New Belgium includes being a packaging supervisor and the draught beer quality manager for New Belgium’s local distribution. In 2006 Matt became the Director of Field Quality, and in 2022 Matt became the Director of Field Quality for both Bell’s Brewing and New Belgium Brewing. Matt is the curator of New Belgium and Bell's art ensuring the flavor of the products leaving the breweries reach consumers in the same way the brewer intended. Today he oversees a national team that manages all facets of post-brewery quality throughout the New Belgium and Bell’s distribution footprint in the US, Canada, and Europe. Matt is co-author of the Brewers Association’s Draught Beer Quality Manual and Draught Beer Quality for Retailers. Matt has also done extensive work with the Brewers Association including serving on the Technical Committee, chairing the Draught Beer Quality Committee, serving as the Draught Beer Quality Ambassador, and co-instructing the Brewers Association’s Draught Line Safety course.
