Under the supervision of Dr. Rebecca Pillai-Riddell in O.U.C.H. Lab, gained insight into the subject of clinical psychology with a primary focus on infant pain perception. Was responsible for quantifying, analyzing and coding raw data obtained from clinics. Gained experience in infant pain measurement methods such as FLACC, and statistics softwares such as IBM SPSS.

Helping incoming students transition into the university experience by providing one-on-one mentorship opportunities and establishing a sense of support.

Under the supervision of Dr. Patricia Lakin-Thomas in CLOCK Lab, gained insight into the subject of eukaryotic circadian physiology with a primary focus on Neurospora crassa fungi and the TTFL. Was responsible for quantifying and analyzing fungi growth samples optically via computer software. Gained extensive experiences in Gel Electrophoresis, Quantitative PCR, Western Blot, fungal culture growth, picking colonies, and more laboratory skills.

Working with the Faculty of Science, I’ve gained insight on STEM programs offered at the university and represent the faculty at many levels, including the Ontario University Fair and York University Fall Open House.

Assisting residents with questions or concerns, building a positive and inclusive environment for the community, and delivering learning opportunities and life skills to the constituents.Dons are senior student staff members who strive to create a community environment, who can help residents find answers to their questions and who promote awareness of diversity and respect.Dons are empowered to make sure the residents meet their responsibilities when living in residence while protecting their rights as a resident. Dons undergo extensive training enabling us to build and maintain a community atmosphere and ensure health and safety requirements are met. Dons are trained as peer advisors to help students with issues such as academic concerns, stress management and roommate conflict. In addition, residents can count on their Don to provide First Aid and CPR should the need arise.

Had opportunities to serve as a representative of the University and share their experiences as a York student with fellow students, staff, faculty and alumni.

Discussed current issues in the residence communities with the Director of Residence Life department, as well as with other campus partners of the university. Worked towards resolving conflicts and problems within the residences, as well as providing residents with the positive university experience.

Worked with a team of 20+ other baristas, handling any task from simply restocking and crafting beverages to encompassing customer service and representing corporate values. Managed to work in versatile positions and times, including open shifts, closing shifts, barista shifts, cashier shifts, and general support shifts. Contributed to cultivating an inclusive and positive environment for customers and coworkers.

Worked as an executive member of the Norman Bethune College student government in close relationship with the affiliated Faculty of Science. I was responsible for effective communication between the affiliated students and the college, and I’ve handled all matters with regard to clubs and affairs within the college. I was also given the opportunity to lead the Digital Media Assistants in creating promotional material for community outreach and sponsorships.

I’ve worked as a first-year representative at Norman Bethune College student government, in close relationship with the Faculty of Science. I’ve helped the first-year students affiliated with Norman Bethune College with seeking involvement opportunities in STEM fields as a student.I’ve initiated and supervised a charity raffle event that resulted in a successful profit, which were all donated to the Childhood Cancer Canada Foundation.
