Matthew L. Email and Phone Number
When I was young, my parents taught me to have an experience with something before having an opinion on it. From going to a PC-bang (internet cafe’s in South Korea) and drinking alcohol to conducting scientific experiments and exploring museums, my parents were always enthusiastic with whatever I wanted to explore, to provide me with the ‘experience’ piece in life. Now, as a higher education professional living in the era of experiential learning, I see the true value in what my parents were trying to teach me for the past decades. Learning by experiencing and envisioning not only increases the efficiency but also the longevity of education, and its applicability in a plethora of subjects will surely influence most, if not all, of academia, and furthermore, humanity. My mission and vision in life ultimately formed from these core motifs my parents showed me: experience, opine, advocate.
