The Greater Cleveland Food Bank works to ensure that everyone in our communities has the nutritious food they need every dayThe Greater Cleveland Food Bank is the largest hunger relief organization in Northeast Ohio having provided 45 million meals in 2014 to hungry people in Cuyahoga, Ashtabula, Geauga, Lake, Ashland and Richland counties. Our mission is to ensure that everyone in our communities has the nutritious food they need every day.We do this through both food distribution and SNAP outreach efforts. The Food Bank operates a community food distribution center, providing food and other critical grocery products annually to more than 750 local food pantries, hot meal programs, shelters, mobile pantries, programs for the elderly and other nonprofit agencies.We also prepare nutritious meals in our Food Bank Kitchen and take hundreds of calls a day in our help center, where we refer low income callers to local agencies and sign-up eligible Northeast Ohioans for the SNAP program and other benefits.Last year, through our SNAP outreach efforts, we provided application assistance resulting in 11.6 million meals for eligible people in Northeast Ohio.

Rural Action’s mission is to foster social, economic, and environmental justice in Appalachian Ohio; envisioning a region of clean streams, healthy forests, thriving family farms, meaningful jobs for everyone, lively towns that remember local history and celebrate their stories, music, arts, and crafts, and people working together to make this vision a reality.Rural Action builds model sustainable development projects and encourages a broad civic conversation around Appalachian Ohio’s assets in order to create sustainable development paths for the region.

The goal of ComCorps is to provide health education, access to health-care and health screenings for children and families in Athens County.

The vision of Good Works is to create and sustain a community of hope with and for people who are struggling with poverty and homelessness in rural Appalachia. Good Works exists to connect people from all walks of life with people in poverty so that the kingdom of God can be experienced.
