CurrentMatt Morris is the administrative partner in the Madison County, Illinois office of Lewis Brisbois and a member of the Asbestos Litigation, Business Practices, General Liability, and Healthcare Practices. The Madison County office is located 25 miles from St. Louis, Missouri and serves Central and Southern Illinois and many areas in Missouri. Over the years, Mr. Morris has split his practice between the defense of litigation and business consulting.Matt has extensive experience in all aspects of managing complex litigation including successfully drafting and arguing dispositive motions, defending against claims for punitive damages, developing and implementing strategies, conducting and defending depositions, negotiating settlements, assisting with all aspects of trial preparation and trying cases to verdict. Matt became involved in business consulting and corporate issues as a result of his family’s businesses in Southern Illinois.Matt's specific industry experience includes defense of negligence actions on behalf of healthcare entities, including hospitals, assisted living facilities, personal care homes, and skilled nursing facilities; defense of manufacturers, premises owners, distributors and contractors in toxic tort and asbestos cases; commercial litigation; representation of businesses in formation, dissolution, employment issues, risk management and mitigation, alternative dispute resolution; and defense of a wide variety of general casualty claims.
