With a strong professional financial background and longstanding experience in the advanced manufacturing sector, Matt's career has taken rapid acceleration to become one of Suffolk’s most successful young businesspeople.In 2019, Matt led on the successful management buyout at Thurston-based SMART Garden Rooms Offices & Studios. Since then, the company has become the national market leader in its sector through a successful blending of agile marketing, new designs, a comprehensive customer service culture and an expanded and well-supported workforce.Under Matt's leadership SMART has doubled in size and output, significant investment in the customer experience, including the UK's first Augmented Reality Garden Room Configurator App and an renovated, extensive 7 unit display showroom. SMART is also leading the way in terms of carbon reduction and offset programme. Former director of Poundfield Products, a precast concrete company, Matt helped expand both its product range and market share, helping it secure key contracts in a range of high-profiled infrastructure projects, including Hinckley Point C, before successfully leading the sale of the business to a construction material PLC.Matt has been the chair of Suffolk Chamber in Bury St Edmunds and is now a director and the treasurer of the parent company, Suffolk Chamber of Commerce. Matt is also the lead of the Chamber's economy group and Chair's the Bank of England panel meetings for Suffolk.At the same time, Matt has become a charity superstar with his support for GeeWizz, including the donation of a Garden Room to both the Ed Sheeran: Made in Suffolk Legacy auction, which raised money for the Thomas Worsley Orminston Academy Playground, and to the Mid Summer Charity ball. Each donation raising over £10,000.
