Matt has led 20+ major programs of work for government jurisdictions in Australia and internationally. He has provided whole-of-jurisdiction advice on strategy, capability building and transformation. He regularly advises people up to and including executive boards, secretaries, CEOs and ministers.Matt has led over a dozen whole-of-enterprise reviews of large organisations, examples range from the National Broadband Network through to the Federal Department of Health. He has also worked on more than 30 targeted research and consulting assignments for teams and functions of various sizes.Matt has facilitated workshops and participated in interviews with over 5,000 people across corporate, policy and program areas—ranging from specialist and operational staff through to the heads of organisations and politicians. This and other experiences (such as working with Parliamentary Committees and leading major programs) has given Matt a cross-cutting perspective that has enabled him to mentor, support and advise on a range of areas—from strategy, leadership, and governance through to client services, work practices, change management, and more.Previously, Matt worked in the Australian Public Service where he was regularly asked to lead high-profile initiatives. Examples include managing the whole-of-government media response to a major international media crisis (the Christmas Island Tragedy), developing and piloting an assessment of agency head performance, and undertaking complex and sensitive internal reviews. These experiences have given Matt insight into ways to navigate and build support for initiatives in complex stakeholder and change management environments.Since leaving the public service in 2016, Matt has advised public, private and not-for-profit organisations with a particular focus on building capability and accelerating outcomes. He brings to clients a wealth of practical experience, especially in significant public-sector settings.
