As the President and CEO of the United States National WWI Museum and Memorial, Dr Naylor leads the internationally acclaimed American institution that preserves and shares the history and legacy of the Great War. With more than 30 years of experience in the nonprofit, purpose-first sector, including 22 years as a CEO, he has a passion for building social capacity, education, creativity, and transformative collaboration.Under his leadership, the Museum and Memorial has achieved unprecedented success, breaking records for attendance, educational and community events, digital engagement, and media impressions. The organization has also significantly strengthened its financial capacity to support the Museum and Memorial's mission and vision. In 2020/21, during the COVID-19 pandemic, many cultural arts organizations across the world laid off or furloughed thousands of employees. Dr Naylor's leadership received national recognition for successfully navigating the Museum and Memorial through the challenging times by reforming the organization into new teams that allowed for the retention of all staff, while dramatically amplifying the Museum and Memorial’s online educational presence and expanding its online database of searchable artifacts.In addition, he serve as a Commissioner of the United States World War I Centennial Commission and as the Chair of the Board of Directors of the Institute for Sustainable Philanthropy. A strategic, visionary, and results-oriented leader with strong team-building and networking skills, outstanding communication skills, and extensive media experience, he is committed to bringing strategic leadership to purpose-first organizations and working with diverse stakeholders in cross-cultural environments.Dr Naylor is a highly qualified and respected non-profit leader with deep cross-cultural experience, extensive public speaking experience, proven skills in fundraising, marketing, communications, governance, and stakeholder relations. He is a member of the Australian Institute of Company Directors.
